PriestmanGoode wins Red Dot Award for the Lufthansa Allegris First Class Suite
PriestmanGoode has been awarded a Red Dot in collaboration with Lufthansa for the Allegris First Class Suite, recognition of a design philosophy rooted in understated luxury, where every detail enhances both the passenger’s wellbeing and the entire flight experience .
PriestmanGoode and Lufthansa have won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026 for the design of the Allegris First Class suite, one of the most ambitious first class cabin design projects in recent aviation history. The award recognises exceptional product design and innovation, and acknowledges the team’s commitment to redefining what long-haul premium travel can feel like.
The Lufthansa Allegris First Class cabin translates comfort and personal control into a refined, intimate environment. Designed as a home away from home, each suite is lined with soft, acoustically absorbent materials that create a living room atmosphere at altitude. All finishes are bespoke for Lufthansa. The use of real materials, like stone surfaces and real wood, introduce premium tactile definition and material depth, while the fabric walls, in combination with the lighting, deliver an inviting and timeless experience.
The cabin features both the Suite and Suite Plus, offering passengers a unique choice of seating options. For passengers that are not traveling alone, a movable ottoman with adjustable backrest, allows for a restaurant-style dining experience within the privacy of the suite. Personal storage, including a full-size wardrobe with a large mirror, provides a private environment for passengers to refresh and change effortlessly. Together, the two suite types provide a breadth of options, catering to solo travellers and those who wish to share the journey in equal measure.
For the passenger, the experience is designed to feel calm and restorative from the moment they settle in. A 10-inch tablet puts full control of the environment, entertainment, lighting, seating, and personal climate, within easy reach, so the suite feels intuitive rather than demanding. The result is a space that works quietly in the background, allowing passengers to simply be present and unwind.
“We are thrilled to have partnered in the design of the new Allegris First Class suite for Lufthansa. A partnership spanning over 25 years has given us the opportunity to redefine the First Class experience and succeed the very product we originally designed. The result is a product we are deeply proud of, and one that reflects the very best of what long-term partnership can achieve.” – Dan MacInnes, Director at PriestmanGoode
