A Designers Role: Advocating for a Sustainable Future
PriestmanGoode returns to Material Matters for the third year as part of a continuing participation in London Design Festival. PriestmanGoode’s exhibition brings a fresh perspective and achievable process towards sustainable material choices, both in design for aviation and rail.

A Designer’s Role: Advocating for a Sustainable Future explores how designers can drive systemic change by embedding sustainability into every stage of the design process. Visitors at Material Matters will discover the evolution of Route to Zero, PriestmanGoode’s strategic framework for reducing environmental impact across sectors including transport and mobility. The studio will also unveil the latest developments in Material Mind, an interactive database designed to help designers and clients navigate sustainable material choices with confidence. Alongside these resources, the installation features responsibly sourced materials and the new Green Seat 2.0 rail seating concept, showcasing modular, lightweight and circular design principles in practice.

The Material Matters Fair runs from 17th to 20th September, showcasing the latest in innovation, sustainable design, and material intelligence. Taking place during the London Design Festival 2025, this year’s event moves to a bold new venue, Space House, 1 Kemble Street (Kingsway), London WC2B 4AN.
